The Fuquay-Varina community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Dalton Ausley, a beloved young man whose kindness, dedication, and passion for life touched all who knew him. Dalton passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, sportsmanship, and deep love for his family and friends.
Born and raised in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, Dalton was the cherished son of Marty Ausley and Wanda Norris. He graduated from Harnett Central High School, where his athletic talent and leadership shone brightly. A standout athlete, Dalton earned All-Conference and MVP honors, and his exceptional skill as a catcher made him a trusted teammate. Friends recall that he was the only catcher fellow players would request — a testament to his reliability and connection on the field.
Dalton pursued his academic dreams at Fayetteville Technical Community College, studying Business Administration and Management, while also working as a dedicated farmer at Ausley Farms LLC. His strong work ethic and love for agriculture reflected his deep roots in family and community values.
Those who knew Dalton describe him as one of the most respectful and polite young men they had ever met. Monica Strickland, a close family friend, shared, “Chris and I had the honor to coach him in baseball alongside his dad, Marty. Tyler also had the honor of pitching to Dalton. He was full of life, and his presence will be greatly missed. Please pray for the Ausley family and the entire community who loved him dearly.”
Dalton’s passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his loved ones. He will be remembered for his warm spirit, his dedication to the game of baseball, his commitment to farming, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.
He is survived by his parents, family members, countless friends, and a community that will forever hold his memory close.
Rest in peace, Dalton 🚜🐾⚾ — your light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew you.
